🌊 Our Five Favourite Lakes in the Parry Sound Area: #4 – Blackstone Lake 🏞️
Blackstone LakeAfter exploring the wonders of Wahwashkesh, Lorimer, and Whitefish Lakes, we will introduce our next favourite lake in the Parry Sound area. Nestled in The Township of The Archipelago, Ontario, our fourth favourite lake is the serene and captivating Blackstone Lake.
Blackstone Lake is primarily a small, boat-access lake with nine charming islands. Its crystal clear waters stretch approximately five and a half kilometres long and just over three kilometres wide, including the northwestern and southeastern bays.
What makes Blackstone Lake unique is its commitment to preservation. A significant portion of the land surrounding the lake, as well as the picturesque islands within it, are privately owned. However, a generous section has been set aside for preservation, ensuring it remains uninhabited and retains its natural beauty.
Water quality is a top priority here, with assessments conducted several times each year and strict enforcement on water-vessel activity, ensuring the lake’s waters stay potable. For the avid canoers, a trip through the lake’s river can lead you through Crane Lake and, further on, to the open waters of the Georgian Bay.
For anglers, the lake is also home to a variety of fish species, including is home to several species, including bass, pike, and pickerel.
Whether you’re a nature enthusiast, a boating lover, or enjoy the tranquillity of pristine waters and untouched lands, Blackstone Lake is a jewel in the heart of Parry Sound’s lake district.
Stay tuned for our reveal of the fifth and final favourite lake in the Parry Sound area!
